A Wonderful throwback to the 80's

When you think of Marvel Legends action figures that you might want on your shelf, you probably wouldn't consider a failed 80's comic book series that had a small toy run and no cartoon to be a pick... but you would be wrong (Thankfully!)

Crystar the Crystal warrior had an 11 issue Marvel comics run that started in 1983, but Remco debuted a line of action figures the year before. As a child of the 80's I was enthralled after seeing the commercials during one Saturday morning cartoon marathon! I remember wanting them so bad even thought the toys back then where pretty basic, I think like 7 points of articulation, which is laughable compared to the now over 20 points of articulation that this new version has.

The updated Crystar body sports a beautiful translucent sculpt, lending to a fantastic "Crystal/ice" look. I also love the accent red pieces (i.e. Gloves, Boots, Trunks, etc) that just pop when contrasted besides his clear blue transparent body. This is wonderful figure is great to pose, especially with his accessories. Speaking of which, much like the original Remco toy you get his sword and shield (I'm always a sucker for a toy with a sword). Now i'm sorry to say (i.e. sarcasm) that you don't get that weird "Crystal Loop" as an accessory (if you don't remember you are not missing anything) but you do get two sets of hands, which include one pair of "holding" hands, a right hand in a fist and a left hand with his fingers splayed appart.

Regardless of being a bit of an obscure toy line of the 80's, this new version is a must buy for your shelf. Not to mention it holds an integral piece of the Build A Figure piece for the Void... the Sentry's other darker half!
